I am Michael Purnell. My wife, Dr. Hilary Frost-Kumpf, and I stayed with Mzee Kaduma for all of July and early August 2006 while Hilary researched theater management in Tanzania. During that time, Mzee became my rafiki, my kaka, and a baba figure for me. For him, I built a tea table from his mango tree lumber (it is on his porch in one of the photos on your Website). For Hilary, he opened many doors and gave valuable advice. Mzee, we will miss you forever. And I will wear the hat you gave me with fond memories. Sincere condolences to Mama Kirama and the Kaduma family.

I am Harmon Watson. I shared the love and friendship og Mzee and Mama Kaduma for two years in the 1970s. The politics of the time eventually painfully separated us but, as a university professor, I have borne them in my heart ever since. Theu were a central part of the best years of my life and I continue to love them and miss them.
