as a black man and as a believer in some of the same principles and ideologies that Mr. Obama stands for, I am so happy and proud of his win. I believe Kenyans would be even more proud of this win; regardless of what they think of Obama as a politician. However, I think it's utterly ridiculous for Kenya as a country to have a public holiday just because of this win! This can't be serious, it's embarrassing in my opinion. As proud as they may feel now; they have to remember Obama is, and has always been a US citizen, and now is president of the US, not Kenya. Heck even for Americans themselves it is only the federal Govt employees that take Jan 20th (inauguration day) off
ReplyDeleteby the way, what was Dick Cheney thinking coming out and endorsing McCain a couple of days before the election? I am certainly not complaining, and sure McCain was already in enough troubles anyways and a loss was inevitable, but Dick's endorsement surely did not help matters a least bit, from McCain's perspective. He (Dick) is the only public servant with less favorability rating than "Dubya" :-D
ReplyDeletewakenya kwa party bwana!
ReplyDelete... Trust africans, we are so lazy! any excuse is good enough to give ourselves a holiday from Work and Obama's win was as good as any!
