Kikwete sends message of condolence to Obama

President Jakaya KikwetePresident Jakaya Kikwete has sent a message of condolences to President Barak Obama of the United States of America over the killing of the country’s Ambassador to Libya and two other Americans.
Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other American officials were killed at the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya.
“I am deeply saddened by the news of attack at the Consulate of the United States of America in Benghazi that caused the deaths of Mr. Chris Stevens, the Ambassador of the United States of America to Libya and three other American officials,” said part of the statement President Kikwete sent to President Obama.
“I wish to convey our most heartfelt condolences to You, and through you to the Government and the People of the United States of America for the great loss,” he said on behalf of the government and people of the United Republic of Tanzania, and on his own.
Kikwete said the killing of Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other American officials who were working at the Consulate has touched many people around the World.
He said the deceased will be remembered for his tireless efforts and commitment in pursuit of international peace and security especially for his work in Libya.
“My Government condemns the attack against the American Diplomats as well as actions against religious beliefs. Our Government will do whatever it takes to make sure that what happened in Libya and the Middle East does not happen in Tanzania,” said Kikwete.
