Kuma's Corner, a heavy metal-themed burger joint on Chicago's North Side, this month is featuring a 10-ounce burger topped with a red wine reduction and an unconsecrated communion wafer, a menu item that, depending on whom you talk to, is either tasty or in poor taste.

The Ghost, named after the Swedish metal band Ghost B.C., costs $17 and comes with fries, chips or a side salad. In addition to the ingredients that ostensibly represent the body and blood of Jesus, the burger served on a pretzel bun includes a portion of slowly braised goat shoulder, aged white cheddar cheese and Ghost chile aioli.

Kuma's names all of its specialty burgers after metal bands. Ghost B.C. is known for its secretive nature, with its musicians wearing hooded robes while the singer appears in skull makeup and dresses as a Roman Catholic cardinal. Some people have been offended by the burger, Director of Operations Luke Tobias said at the restaurant Wednesday.

CHICAGO OPEN CASTING CALL

The Superman reboot “Man of Steel” is now casting extras in Illinois.
The movie will be shooting this summer in areas around Illinois. Man
of Steel is seeking extras and background actors of all types and
ages.

Man of Steel comes stars Henry Cavill, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, Amy
Adams, Michael Shannon, Russell Crowe. Man of Steel will open in movie
theaters in 2012 and is directed by Zack Snyder.

The movie is being cast under the working title “Autumn Frost” – All
extras will be paid

Tanzania Uhuru Day Party: Saturday, December 19, 2009

The Tanzania Community Association – Midwest USA, NFP (TCA) cordially invites you to celebrate Tanzania’s Uhuru Day on Saturday, December 19, 2009 starting at 6 pm (Central Standard Time) .

This is going to be a big event for our community, friends of Tanzania, the East African communities and Africa as a whole. Embassy officials from the Permanent Mission of the United Republic of Tanzania to the United Nations in New York led by Ambassador Dr. Augustine P. Mahiga will be in attendance. Several dignitaries and friends of our community from all over the US have been invited and will be in attendance so this event will present a good networking opportunity.

Entrance Fee: $15.00 early bird, $20 at the door for adults and free for children up to 12 years of age. Dinner is included in the entrance ticket.

Mama na Kaka wa Jennifer Hudson Wameuawa!

Jennifer Hudson ma Mama yake mzazi

Kuna habari za kusikitisha. Mama yake mzazi Jennifer Hudson, Darnell Donerson (57), na kaka yake Jason Hudson (29), walmeuawawa kikatili jana nyumbani kwao huko Chicago. Mpwa wake mwenye miaka 7 anatafutwa na polisi wametoa Amber Alert (tangazo maalum kwa ajili ya watoto waliohatarini). Polisi wanamshikilia William Balfour (27) ambaye ni mume kwa mdogo wake.

Jennifer Hudson alipata tuzo la Oscar mwaka jana kwa ajili ya sinema, Dreamgirls. Aliigiza kama Effie White ambaye alikuwa mwimbaji mkuu wa kikundi cha Dreamgirls kabla ya kupinduliwa na Deena Jones (Beyonce). Jennifer alipata umaarufu kwenye American Idol.

Wiki iliyopita sinema, The Secret Life of Bees, ilitoka. Jeenifer anaigiza mle na akina Queen Latifah, Alicia Keys na Sophie Okonedo. Hivi karibuni kachumbiwa na mwanasheria na mwigizaji, David Otunga.
