Associated Press NAIROBI, Kenya (AP) -  Thousands of people have surged for food aid in Kenya's capital in a brief stampede, leading police to fire tear gas and injure several people. Many were desperate for help as coronavirus-related restrictions make it more difficult to go out and make a living. The scene in Kenya's largest slum reflects the fears of millions across Africa as nearly 20 countries have imposed full lockdowns and others have shut down cities or imposed curfews. In the Nairobi chaos, men with sticks beat people back as they fought over food, some with face masks dangling off their chins. Some people fell and were trampled. Women shrieked.

NAIROBI, Kenya (AP) — Thousands of people surged for food aid in a brief stampede Friday in Kenya's capital, desperate for help as coronavirus restrictions keep them from making a living. Police fired tear gas and injured several people, witnesses said.
Residents of Nairobi's Kibera slum, spotting a food distribution, tried to force their way through a gate outside a district office for their chance at supplies to keep their families fed for another day.
The scene in Kenya’s largest slum reflected the fears of millions across Africa as nearly 20 countries have imposed full lockdowns and others have shut down cities or imposed curfews. A vast population of informal workers, with little or no savings, worries about the next meal as no one knows when the measures will end. Already, Rwanda and South Africa have extended their lockdowns by two weeks.
In the Nairobi chaos, men with sticks beat people back as they fought over packages of food, some with face masks dangling off their chins. Some people fell and were trampled. Dust rose. Women shrieked. Injured people were carried to safety and placed on the ground to recover, gasping for breath.
“The people who have been injured here are very many, even we cannot count,” said one resident, Evelyn Kemunto. “Both women and children have been injured. There was a woman with twins, she has been injured, and even now she is looking for her twins. … It is food we were coming for since we are dying of hunger.”
The crowd had heard that popular opposition leader Raila Odinga had donated the food, said witness Richard Agutu Kongo, a 43-year-old who operates a motorcycle taxi. But in fact the distribution was from another well-wisher who had given selected families cards to turn in and receive aid, he said.
“They didn’t care about government restrictions that we were to stay 1 meter apart,” he added.
Kongo’s family, including six children, was given a card. They received two packets of maize meal, cooking oil and cereals.
People in the crowd “could see those with cards getting food and this caused the stampede as they tried to force their way in,” Kongo said.
He described his business as a standstill as Kenyans are discouraged from going out.
“Before, I used to make (the equivalent of) $10 and now with the coronavirus restrictions I can barely make $5,” he said. “It’s becoming hard to ensure my family gets three meals a day. Yesterday they missed breakfast.”
With Friday’s donation, his family now has enough for three meals, he said: “We are thankful for the donation, but it will only last two days.”
He lamented that Kenya’s government appears to have no plan to feed him and millions more.

GARANI MW1 is a herbal preparation that is being used to treat people that have HIV and AIDS. It has strong antiviral properties and therefore also positively affects immune system. The medicine improves the immune system by increasing ones CD4 cell count because viral replication is reduced/halted. The body is then able to fight opportunistic infections that come due to the compromised immunity.  The viral load is reduced to undetectable levels and people have tested non reactive to the HIV tests using both anti body and HIV DNA/ PCR tests.
As Garanimw1 is available in powder form, it is taken through porridge made from maize flour with no sugar or salt, one tea teaspoon per day, once a day for three consecutive days, repeated after a period of two weeks from the same pack. Some have become totally cured after taking only one pack while others may need to repeat the dose at 1 month intervals.

MIAMI (AP) — The winner of a roach-eating contest in South Florida died shortly after downing dozens of the live bugs as well as worms, authorities said Monday.

About 30 contestants ate the insects during Friday night's contest at Ben Siegel Reptile Store in Deerfield Beach about 40 miles north of Miami. The grand prize was a python.

Edward Archbold, 32, of West Palm Beach became ill shortly after the contest ended and collapsed in front of the store, according to a Broward Sheriff's Office statement released Monday. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Authorities were waiting for results of an autopsy to determine a cause of death.

The medical examiner's office said Tuesday it has sent samples of Archbold's remains for testing, but results are not expected for another week or two.

"Unless the roaches were contaminated with some bacteria or other pathogens, I don't think that cockroaches would be unsafe to eat," said Michael Adams, professor of entomology at the University of California at Riverside, who added that he has never heard of someone dying after consuming roaches. "Some people do have allergies to roaches," he said, "but there are no toxins in roaches or related insects."

None of the other contestants became ill, the sheriff's office said.

There was no updated phone number listed for Archbold in West Palm Beach.

"We feel terribly awful," said store owner Ben Siegel, who added that Archbold did not appear to be sick before the contest. "He looked like he just wanted to show off and was very nice," Siegel said, adding that Archbold was "the life of the party."

Siegel said Archbold was selling the exotic prize to a friend who took him to the contest.

The grand prize has been put aside in Archbold's name and will be given to his estate, Siegel told the AP.

A statement from Siegel's attorney said all the participants signed waivers "accepting responsibility for their participation in this unique and unorthodox contest."

The bugs consumed were from an inventory of insects "that are safely and domestically raised in a controlled environment as food for reptiles."

Mimi sitaki kupoteza biashara yangu!"

While protests in the early 1950s had achieved legal segregation of most public modations in Washington D.C., “informal segregation remained a serious problem.”  African diplomats that moved their families to the nation’s capital often faced discrimination in housing, restaurants, businesses as well as hostile harassment. The “mistreatment” of these African diplomats “not only damaged relations with the host nation but might also affect the power balance in the United Nations; Soviet premier Nikita Khrushchev was quietly trying to line up African nations behind a proposal to have the United Nations moved out of the United States because of persistent racial discrimination.”

One particular account involving William Fitzjohn of Sierra Leone served as a  mechanism for the desegregation of the route African dignitaries used to travel from New York to Washington. Fitzjohn was denied service at a Howard Johnson’s restaurant in Hagerstown, Maryland in March of 1961.  President Kennedy, moved by the notion that the African press might view this episode as a “catalyst for antiAmerican feelings,” met personally with the diplomat to apologize for the incident.

Subsequent incidents involving dozens of African diplomats, including the new ambassador from Chad, Adam Malik Sow, forced Kennedy to reconsider the “Washington first” strategy (i.e. promoting civil rights gains made by the federal government abroad, while downplaying civil rights struggles and abuses at home).

While Kennedy’s first suggestion to these diplomats was to fly from New York to Washington instead of driving, he would eventually use the State Department’s Office of Protocol to pressure the Maryland legislature to pass a law outlawing segregated public facilities along Route 40.  “Thus began a campaign led by officials of the federal government to undermine segregation in Maryland.” Following a period of sitins and threats of freedom rides by the Congress of Racial Equality, as well as a two year campaign from the Office of Protocol, the Maryland General Assembly finally passed a law that banned racial discrimination in restaurants and hotels in the areas surrounding Route 40 during a March session in 1963.

Viongozi WaAfrika Washinda Njaa Afrika Kusini!

Duh!

Ilikuwa kasheshe kweli kweli!

******************************************
Hungry African leaders 'had to buy own food' at ANC centenary celebrations

African leaders reportedly sent staff to Nando’s after discovering a shortage of food and bedding at their luxury accommodation.
They are often accused of living like kings while their impoverished peoples suffer. Not this time, it would seem.

African leaders who attended last weekend's centenary celebrations of the African National Congress (ANC) had to embark on some hasty shopping when they found no food or bedding at their accommodation, according to a newspaper report.

Such was the indignity that the president of Uganda, Yoweri Museveni, was apparently forced to dispatch security guards to fetch him some grilled chicken from Nando's.

The heads of state, including some of the continent's most feared autocrats, were "angry and disappointed" by the gaffe, an article in Volksblad said. But the South African government disputes the report and says it has received no complaints. It did acknowledge, however, that Museveni may have decided to order food in addition to that provided.

There was no shortage of logistical hiccups during the events in Bloemfontein marking 100 years of Africa's oldest liberation movement. More than 40 heads of state were put up at the Woodland Hills Wildlife Estate on the edge of the city – which might have proved less luxurious than it first appeared.

"The leaders allegedly had to buy their own bedding, food, pots, pans, glasses and bottled water because the ANC had ordered the owners of the houses it rented at Woodland Hills Wildlife Estate to remove all their possessions," Volksblad claimed. "There was apparently only liquor provided."

At least 15 women hired as housekeepers, waitresses and cleaners at the estate came forward to reveal how foreign dignitaries were treated, the paper said. Mampho Mmelaedi, who was working at the house used by Museveni, was quoted as saying: "Ugandan officials had to leave Woodlands to go and buy duvets, food and other necessities for the president as there was a bed without linen."

Motladi Metsing added: "Namibian officials went to buy food, pots, plates and glasses to cook for the president. I could see he was angry and disappointed."

Kenalemang Pula claimed the Nigerian delegation arrived on Sunday morning and had packed their bags by lunchtime. And President Thomas Boni of Benin allegedly "stormed out" of Woodlands Hills immediately.

Paul Kagame from Rwanda, Teodoro Obiang from Equatorial Guinea, Bingu wa Mutharika from Malawi and Namibia's Hifikepunye Pohamba were also denied the hospitality to which they have become accustomed, Volksblad added.

"They kept asking us if we worked for the ANC or for the South African government," one of the women told the paper. "Understandably, they kept shouting at us. We were embarrassed to be there."

Around 55 houses owned by private individuals had been rented out for an estimated 50,000 rand (£3,997) a day.

Valentine Rantsoareng, joint owner of the Rantsoareng hotel group, which was contracted to equip the houses, denied there had been a failure. "I think people who make these allegations are somewhat dissatisfied because they haven't been paid yet, but I have only now received the receipt for it," he told Volksblad. He added that some of the heads of state had deviated from the menu and "asked for chicken".

A spokesman for Nando's said: "The Nando's restaurant in question was very busy throughout the weekend. Although a number of VIPs, dignitaries and security personnel purchased meals from the franchise during this time, neither the franchisee nor Nando's South Africa can confirm that they were linked to the Ugandan president."

The South African government denied it had committed a diplomatic blunder. Clayson Monyela, South Africa's spokesman for international relations, said: "We don't know what these people are referring to. The African heads of state in Bloemfontein were looked after in terms of the standard protocol courtesies extended to heads of state.

"We have not received any official complaint from any of them. Some of them stayed over until Monday and had bilateral meetings with President [Jacob] Zuma. This is just a malicious thing and we don't know where it came from."

He added: "They may have requested one or two things that were not provided in the standard hospitality. It's not unexpected. If President Zuma wants something that isn't provided he sends his staff out to get it. That's standard."

The ANC's centenary celebrations were marred by technical hitches: accreditation was chaotic for many; a golf tournament teed off late after a mix-up over the deputy president's diary.

African heads of state missed Zuma lighting the "centenary flame" in the church where the ANC was founded because they arrived well after midnight. The president had to request a recap from the chaplain on their behalf before all returned to a gala dinner that overran until 3am.

Thousands of ANC supporters who travelled to a birthday rally were angry when they were locked out of the stadium, which emptied long before the event was over.

THAI & CHINESE PEOPLE EATING A BLACK MAN. I have never seen anything like this before! The Asian appetite for "exotic" taste sometimes scare me - from stories of cat eating to dogs, to lizard, snakes to all sorts of crazy fish, then human embryos and now to fully grown humans! The photo of the person you are about to watch could have been somebody's fiance, husband or Dad! This looks too real to be true.
How I wish all black leaders watch these photos and give guidelines of who they allow to migrate into their countries. The time has come for black (Africans, American, West Indies etc) to rise and unite together against attrocities committed by foreigners on them either on their soil or abroad. Time to pray to God is now!
