Kwa nini Wanaume Wanalala Baada ya Tendo la Ndoa?
Haya akina mama/dada.

President Obama Refusal to Visit Kenya Will Have Consequences
Kenya has some serious issues with its Top Leader being accused of serious crimes. so, it is understandable why President Obama is not visiting Kenya. But some do not see it that way.
*****************************************************
*****************************************************
By KWAMCHETSI MAKOKHA
US
President Barack Obama is no friend of Kenya. Consider that when no
other country ever declared a public holiday to celebrate his election
victory in 2008, Kenya did. The Senegalese had no idea and the
Tanzanians and South Africans were green with envy.
Consider
also that when President Obama needed good genes to get into Harvard
Law School, a Kenyan contributed 50 per cent. When Mr Obama needed
pictures of himself carrying cassava to the market to get through a
bruising campaign, Kenya obliged.
In
fact, Kenya provided the story of his African ancestry — complete with
the heroic role his grandfather played in the Mau Mau struggle for
independence. He even visited the country as a junior senator for
Illinois, and was welcomed with open arms.
Now that he is President, Kenya is not good enough to visit.
The
excuse for his refusal is laughable. Fears of being photographed at
State House in the company of the country’s two leaders who face crimes
against humanity charges at the International Criminal Court have
apparently forced him to skirt his father’s homeland as if it were a
leper colony.
Did
the country not conduct peaceful elections this year that the Supreme
Court passed as the cleanest in the country’s history? He has permitted a
little domestic quarrel about power to prevent him from taking a mere
photograph with the legitimate leadership of Kenya just because of
claims that 1,133 people died and 600,000 others were displaced as a
result of their combined genius.
Has
Kenya not recovered from the violence that nearly tore the country
apart in 2008, passing a modern and progressive Constitution?
Only
this year, Mr Obama pretended to care for Kenya by promising that those
willing to walk the path of progress would “continue to have a strong
friend and partner in the United States of America”.
Instead
of holding up Kenya as a beacon of democracy and prosperity that has
survived 50 years of independence, Mr Obama has gone looking for
examples in Senegal, Tanzania and South Africa. He should know that
Kenya wrote the encyclopaedia of African democracy.
It
is incongruous that Mr Obama would want to discuss good governance with
toddlers in African democracy. Anyone who needs a manual on how to run
elections needs to look no further than Kenya.
Anyone
who is keen on creating a youthful leadership on the backbone of
integrity need not look further than Nairobi. Mr Obama wanted to discuss
political parties? Kenya has over 50. It can teach Africans not just
about democracy, it can also instruct them on justice.
For
all its exemplary political conduct, what does Kenya get? Bad press and
a presidential snub! Other than having Nelson Mandela, South Africa has
nothing on Kenya. The lions in Tanzania are all Kenyan.
Mr
Obama seems to be oblivious of the numerous sacrifices many Kenyans
have quietly made to bring him to where he is. Numerous Kenyans, working
as immigrants, have lifted the American economy from the ignominy of
the world economic crisis.
Kenya
has allowed thousands of Americans to work as spies, marines, teachers,
researchers and what-not just to cover Mr Obama’s vulnerability in
failing to create jobs at home. His truancy in dodging the call of his
ancestral home invites punishment commensurate with his mischief.
Mr
Obama should think long and hard about the effect of Kenya demanding
the repatriation of all its resources stolen to benefit America –
starting with six pints of his blood, 16 of his teeth and 50 per cent of
his brain. The rest should follow in due course.
Choices have consequences.
Choices have consequences.

Kwanza, hamkumwepo, mimi nilikuwepo.
Ile Rexall Tennis Center ina chukua watu 10,000 (capacity).
Watu walikuwa wanakaa sections fulani, ndo maan zingine zilikuwa tupu.

Malika Issoufou.

Unyama Wanofanyikwa Zeruzeru Tanzania Katika Taarifa Ya Habari USA

KABANGA, Tanzania (AP) - As an infant in rural Tanzania, Angel Salvatory was unusual. Snow white skin, blond hair, and blue eyes set her apart from others in her village. Those unique looks have also made her a target.
"Her father thought she was a gift from God," says Salvatory's mother, Bestida Simon. "One that he could use to get riches."
Since surviving an attack led by her father, Salvatory has spent the past four years living in the Kabanga Protectorate Center, a government safe house for people living with albinism.
"Angel's father led a group to attack her. He had wanted to attack her since she was 3 months old. He thought if they'd take Angel to a witch doctor as a sacrifice that they could get rich," Simon said.
Burning in the daylight and hunted in the shadows, having albinism is often a death sentence in East Africa. In Tanzania, one out of every 1,400 people has albinism, a genetic condition characterized by a lack of pigment in the body. That compares to a global average of one in 20,000 people according to Under the Same Sun, a Canada-based albinism advocacy group.
The group says that more than 100 people with albinism have been physically attacked in Tanzania since 2006, including 71 who died. Albinos are widely seen as a source of magic in Tanzania's traditional communities.
Long in danger and neglected in their own country, albinos in Tanzania now have a bit of hope for increased government assistance.
In April members of Parliament heard emotional testimony that moved some to suggest making sun screen tax free, and Parliament voted to donate part of their salary to the cause.
Severin Edward, a program officer with the Tanzania Albino Society, noted that parliament promised to set aside funds for the special needs of people with albinism and that the country's prime minister said the government has agreed to grant special priority to court cases involving albinos, to bring about justice faster.
"This is the good point to start," Edward said by email last month.
A government census done in 2012 could reveal the exact numbers of albinos in Tanzania. The portion of the census regarding people with disabilities, including albinos, is expected to be released in 2014.
In Tanzania, albinos are often referred to as ghosts, or zero zero, which in Swahili signifies someone who is less than human. Legends here suggest that that even when an albinos is killed, he or she never really dies.
Brutal attacks against albinos are often led by witch doctors who use albino body parts in potions they claim bring riches. In response, the government began placing children and adults with albinism into safe houses. Although they may be physically protected in the centers, many there feel imprisoned.
In 2008 the government of Tanzania suffered a rash of negative stories by Western journalists about the killings of albinos, said Peter Ash, founder of Under The Same Sun.
"These centers came in response to the killings. It's how the government has chosen to respond. The government has basically abandoned these kids," he said. "There is no long-term plan."
Holding her 2-month-old baby Jessica on her back in a traditional kanga cloth, Helen Sekalima, 40, sorts dry beans. The dark-skinned mother came to live at the Kabanga Protectorate Center after her newborn infant was threatened.
"The people in the village said that the children are not normal people, that they are like devils," Sekalima said.
Her husband, Anderson Naimoni, doesn't agree with the idea of centers where, "our people are being turned into refugees," he says.
Ash said his group discovered that in some centers emotional and even sexual abuse "was rampant." His group has informed the government "but they'll probably do nothing about it," Ash said.
Experts say staving off attacks from witch doctors is just one of many issues that Tanzania's albino population must address. Low vision problems complicate schooling, and with little cultural precedent for skin protection rates of skin cancer are high. More than 80 percent will die by age 40 due to skin cancer, Ash said.
In rural northwest Tanzania dried corn stalks sway gently in a field sheltering a concrete slab that protects the grave of 3-year-old Naimana Daudi from grave-robbers. The albino toddler was kidnapped at night and found in pieces in the morning.
A tear slips down the dark cheek of her mother, 30-year-old Angelista Ngarama. After her daughter was killed, Ngarama took her youngest child, Ferister, to the Kabanga Protectorate Center. No one knows when it will be safe enough for the 2-year-old to return home.

Kisa, eti hawakuwa kwenye Zebra wakati wanavuka barabara! Nawaambia Mzungu asingetendewa hivyo!

Mom Faces More Jail Time Than the Drunk Driver Who Killed Her Son — WHY?

Mom facing jail time after son was killed by drunk driverOur friends at HLN are discussing a story out of Marietta, Georgia about a mother who is facing two years of jail time after her 4-year-old son was hit and killed by a drunk driver while she and her children were crossing the street. Now, hopefully you're asking yourself how it is that the mother of a boy slain after being hit by a drunk driver while crossing the street could be facing jail time at all, and the answer is because "she chose to cross the street at the bus stop, instead of the nearest crosswalk, three-tenths of a mile away.
In July 2011, the mom in question, Raquel Nelson (pictured left with her now deceased son), "was convicted of … three misdemeanors: second-degree homicide by a vehicle, crossing roadway elsewhere than a crosswalk and reckless conduct." She received a sentence of one year probation and 40 hours of community service, but has chosen a retrial which begins today. According to HLN, "She now faces up to two years behind bars."
The driver, Jerry Guy, "fled the scene after the accident but later admitted being involved, according to CNN affiliate WXIA-TV. He was sentenced to five years in prison but served only six months. He is serving the remainder of the sentence on probation," CNN noted in July of 2011. Nelson's son A.J. died in April 2010. This woman has been on trial for three years while grieving for the death of her son in what was an accident caused by a drunk driver. If Nelson were to be ticketed at all, to be made an example of (because she's a black single mother and American society loves to make an example of black single mothers), the only charge that seems reasonable in this case is "crossing roadway elsewhere than a crosswalk." There's no doubt that pedestrians need to obey rules and watch out for their own safety, but as Nelson's attorney, David Savoy, suggested, "the white stripes of a crosswalk are not impenetrable walls of steel that could have prevented a driver from striking someone crossing the street."
The idea that Nelson could be convicted of second-degree homicide by a vehicle makes me truly nauseous, because that is passing the buck from Guy to Nelson. Guy was driving the car, Guy was drunk, Guy struck the child and Guy fled. These charges are so, so sadly reflective of America's victim-blaming culture. A child runs out into the street while crossing from the bus stop and is struck by a car and killed. How does it possibly serve anyone to put his mother in jail? She has two other children to take care of.
It's hard to imagine a white mother facing trial in the same circumstance. Then again, it's also hard for some to imagine a white mother in the same circumstance, unless she's poor, and then she too is to be made an example of. Because we're taught in America that if we're not wealthy and successful it's our "fault," and that everyone should want to be an over-scheduled, workaholic consumer, because to be otherwise is unpatriotic. It's un-American to stop feeding the machine. And if you're not feeding it, you're milking it, and that makes you scum. It's immature black-and-white thinking (in more than one sense), but that's what we're best at.
This story reminded me immediately of one I read the other day about the Anonymous hacker that helped convict the Steubenville rapists. Mother Jones reported, "If convicted of hacking-related crimes, [he] could face up to 10 years behind bars-far more than the one- and two-year sentences doled out to the Steubenville rapists." They added, "Defending himself could end up costing a fortune." Precisely. America's justice system favors the wealthy and powerful and blames those whose are already systematically oppressed. For how much longer can we sit idly by and watch as those in power in this country ignore the real problems of real people in favor of criminalizing the poverty and oppression they've created?
The message Nelson's case sends is: You're black and single with three kids and you don't even know how to cross the street you pathetic worthless excuse for a human being. Now go to jail and think about how you killed your kid. Swallow the shame and the deflected blame. That's what you get for needing to take the bus I pay for with my taxes.
When the lesson should be: Pedestrians have the right of way and drunk driving is illegal, not to mention unethical. Fleeing the scene of a crime is heinous. This poor mother, forced to take the bus on a four lane highway, lost her son. Perhaps we should provide better options for families who need to travel.
Think about the difference and decide which one is right. Put yourself in her shoes. Just think about it.

Ugomvi za Wasanii Bongo "Asha Baraka Asije Kunizika" - Ally Choki
Asha Baraka Asije Kunizika"-Ally Choki

The Boston- New York line has taken a hit with the loss of its Discount buses, the Fung Wah bus and Lucky Star. You could go to New York or Boston for $15 anytime and all the time, just walk up to the counter and buy a ticker. Since the demise of Fung Wah all bus lines raised their prices dramatically.
