Kwa wadau wanaosoma habari nazoandika hapa kwenye blogu wanajua kuwa nimewahi kuzungumzia suala ya Open Casting Call. Katika sinema mara nyingi waigizaji wanaitwa kufanya audition kupitia kwa agent. Zingine zinakuwa wazi, yaani mtu yeyote anaruhusiwa kwenda.

Mwongozaji sinema maarufu, Martin Scorsese atakuwa hapa Boston anatengeneza sinema ambayo inaitwa Ashecliffe kuanzia mwezi Machi. Hadithi enyewe inatokana na kitabu cha Shutter Island. Nimekisoma na kwa kweli ni kizuri. Nafasi za weusi zipo nyingi lakini kama wasaidizi hapo hospitalini.

Jumamosi hii kutakuwa na Open Call. Kwa vile inatangazwa kila mahala mtegemee kusimama kwenye foleni ndefu, maana watu watatoka New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, New Hampshire etc. Sinema ya Scorsese si mchezo bwana! Halafu wanakuwa na bajeti kubwa za Hollywood.

Leonardo DiCaprio atacheza kama mhusika mkuu, Teddy Daniels. Ben Kingsley atacheza kama Dr. Cawley.

Grant Wilfley Casting is opening a satellite office in Boston for the feature film ASHECLIFFE directed by Martin Scorsese and starring Leonardo DiCaprio. Filming begins in the Boston, Mass. area in March 2008. An open call will be held from 10am to 4pm on Saturday Jan. 26 at Boston University (George Sherman Union- Metcalf Hall) 775 Commonwealth Ave. Boston, MA 02215 to cast extras for the feature film.

This film is set in the 1950s in a mental institution with flashbacks to a WWII concentration camp. Casting for people to play mental institution staff (doctors, nurses, orderlies, guards), mental patients (including interesting, quirky or unusual character faces), the malnourished and emaciated concentration camp prisoners (many of whom will have their heads shaved), and people to play WWII American and German soldiers (young athletic types, people with military or law enforcement experience and knowledge of firearms, police officers, fire fighters, ROTC, etc). Seeking men who are willing to have their hair cut short and women with natural-looking hair color, no highlights. Specifically seeking Caucasian and African American people.
