I do respect Baba wa Taifa enormously but sometimes it becomes boring to see some of our current political and government leaders use his name for their own gain.

With my little knowledge, I can’t see why we should have his picture in all government offices, just as in private buildings or in small shops in Mazense or elsewhere. Not only that, I can’t see the logic of naming almost everything after his name.

Surely, our country isn’t a one man country and never was. And it looks a bit disrespective to other freedom fighters when their names are buried in the dust and that of Mwalimu is being 'over' praised as if he was the only guy fought for our independence.

Of course, always in every success story, there should be one guy to be singled out as a leader. And in our case, we all accept Mwalimu was our leader in our journey towards freedom and thereafter became our first leader. But too much of something can be harmful.

The picture above underpins!

Despite three phases came after Mwalimu’s era, his picture tells million words behind the wall of that particular office.

Mwalimu was down to earth man!”-something many of today’s leaders lack. I wonder if he could have liked all those things named after him!
