The British Council welcomes you to apply for Performing Arts Entrepreneurs’ Award and the Visual Arts Entrepreneurs Awards. The awards celebrate achievement and develop the potential of young creative entrepreneurs across the world.
Are you a· Producer of theatre, dance, music or live art performances· Promoter, festival directors and marketing specialists in this area· Manager of theatre, dance, music or live art companies· Developer of performing arts publishing, communications or websites· Consultant providing specialist services in this area..Then apply for the Performing Art Entrepreneur award by 30th April 2008 .
Are you a· Curator, director and other professionals working in public galleries and the wider public sector supporting the development of the visual arts· Owner, director, manager, marketing and other professionals working in commercial galleries presenting visual arts work· Auction houses and other forms of distribution or agency within the visual arts sector· Developer of visual arts publishing (magazines, books etc.), communications or websites· Consultant providing specialist services in this area -Then apply for the Visual Art Entrepreneur award by 30th May 2008
General Eligibility
A participant must:· Be aged between 25 and 35· Already work in the creative sector (as outlined in each of the sectoral definitions above) with at least 3 years experience in their sector· Be entrepreneurial and have shown their ability in the promotion of that creative sector in their country, in either a commercial context, public context, or both· Through their character, drive and abilities demonstrate their potential to be a future leader of the sector in their country· Have English language skillsSuccessful candidate(s) will take part in the UK tour with other participants from other participating countries of Africa and Asia.
Final Judging will take place and winner of each award will receive a handsome cash prize!!Application forms can be obtained at the British Council reception or download at our website www.britishcouncil.org/tanzania
