I am making a film that incorporates the story of Kinjikitile "Bokero" Ngwale and the Maji Maji Rebellion in German East Africa during the turn of the century.
I am in need of a male to play the part of Bokero himself (voice only). The text that will need to be be read will be about 2 minutes in length, and will need to be translated from English. No prior acting or voice acting experience is necessary.
Ideally, I am looking for someone who can speak Matumbi, but someone who can speak Swahili or any other East African Bantu language with a Tanzanian or East African accent would work as well.
I am offering $30 compensation and will also provide credit in the film, a copy of the finished film, and a copy of your voice recording.
Recording can be done in person (either Union Square, Manhattan or Clinton Hill, Brooklyn) or over the internet - whichever is preferable for you.
