Prof. Henry Kadete Thirty Year Wedding Anniversary!

It was 30 years ago tomorrow 8/24/85, that I said "I Do" to Prof. Henry Kadete, (pronounced KAH-DEH-TEH) in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania at St. Alban's Anglican Church. It was the wedding of the year in Dar. Both my grandfathers were in attendance (my grandmothers had both passed). My grandpa flew from USA to attend and always talked about it until his death. Sadly Prof. Kadete, was taken from us ten years later in 1995 leaving me with two beautiful children. May he continue to rest in eternal peace. Amen. Tanzania and the African continent lost a genius of Electrical Engineering. For those who don't know, Prof. Kadete did the groundwork for bringing LUKU (prepaid) Electricity to Tanzania. At the time of his death, he was the Head of the Electrical Engineering Department at the University of Dar es Salaam. Only God, knows why some die so young. Prof. Kadete may be gone, but he is not forgotten.

He lectured me in High Current EE at UD way back in the late 80's. To all of us in the class he was always an awesome educator.
It is pity we lost him so early in his life.
Pole dada.
