Mauaji Buffalo New York! Mzungu Aneyechukia Watu weusi Amewaua wakiwa Shopping Supermarket!

(AP) Multiple people have been shot at a supermarket in Buffalo, New York. Police there said in a Saturday afternoon tweet that the alleged shooter was in custody. Details on the number of people shot at the Tops Friendly Market and their conditions weren't immediately available. Police officials and a spokesperson for the supermarket chain did not immediately respond to messages seeking comment. Gov. Kathy Hochul tweeted that she was "closely monitoring the shooting at a grocery store in Buffalo," her hometown. The supermarket is in a primarily residential part of a predominately Black neighborhood, about 3 miles north of downtown Buffalo.

Mweusi Mwenye Hasira Aua Polisi Mjini New York Halafu Ajiua!

Polisi waliowawa mjini New York - Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu

NEW YORK (AP) - A gunman who vowed online to shoot two "pigs" in retaliation for the police chokehold death of Eric Garner ambushed two New York City officers in a patrol car and fatally shot them in broad daylight Saturday before running to a subway station and killing himself, authorities said.

Ismaaiyl Brinsley, 28, wrote on an Instagram account: "I'm putting wings on pigs today. They take 1 of ours, let's take 2 of theirs," two city officials with direct knowledge of the case confirmed for The Associated Press. He used the hashtags Shootthepolice RIPErivGardner (sic) RIPMikeBrown.

The officials, a senior city official and a law enforcement official, were not authorized to speak publicly on the topic and spoke on condition of anonymity.

Police said Brinsley approached the passenger window of a marked police car and opened fire, striking Officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu in the head. The officers were on special patrol doing crime reduction work in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn.

"They were, quite simply, assassinated - targeted for their uniform," said Police Commissioner Bill Bratton, who looked pale and shaken at a hospital news conference.

The sudden and extraordinary violence stunned the city, prompted a response from vacationing President Barack Obama and escalated weeks of simmering ill will between police and their critics following grand jury decisions not to indict officers in the deaths of Eric Garner in New York and Michael Brown in Missouri. Garner and Brown were black; the officers who killed them are white.

Demonstrators around the country have staged die-ins and other protests following the grand jury decisions. The New York police union head declared there's "blood on the hands" of protesters and the city's mayor.

Brinsley took off running after the shooting. Officers chased him down to a nearby subway station, where he shot himself in the head as a subway train door full of people closed. A silver handgun was recovered at the scene, Bratton said.

"This may be my final post," Brinsley wrote in the post that included an image of a silver handgun. The post had more than 200 likes but also had many others admonishing his statements.

Bratton said the suspect made very serious "anti-police" statements online but did not get into specifics of the posts.

The Rev. Al Sharpton said Garner's family has no connection to the suspect and denounced the violence.

"We have stressed at every rally and march that anyone engaged in any violence is an enemy to the pursuit of justice for Eric Garner and Michael Brown," he said.

Brown's family condemned the shooting in a statement posted online by their attorney.

"We reject any kind of violence directed toward members of law enforcement. It cannot be tolerated. We must work together to bring peace to our communities," the family said.

Most of the protests have been peaceful, particularly in New York. Bratton said police were investigating whether Brinsley had attended any rallies or demonstrations and why he had chosen to kill the officers.

Brinsley was black; the officers were Asian and Hispanic, police said.

Mayor Bill de Blasio said the killings of Ramos and Liu strike at the heart of the city.

"Our city is in mourning. Our hearts are heavy," said de Blasio, who spoke softly with moist eyes. "It is an attack on all of us."

Scores of officers in uniform lined up three rows deep at the hospital driveway. The line stretched into the street. Officers raised their hands in a silent salute as two ambulances bore away the slain officers' bodies. The mayor ordered flags at half-staff.

In a statement Saturday night, Attorney General Eric Holder condemned the shooting deaths as senseless and "an unspeakable act of barbarism." Obama, vacationing in Hawaii, issued a statement saying he unconditionally condemns the slayings.

"The officers who serve and protect our communities risk their own safety for ours every single day - and they deserve our respect and gratitude every single day," Obama said. "Tonight, I ask people to reject violence and words that harm, and turn to words that heal - prayer, patient dialogue, and sympathy for the friends and family of the fallen."

The tragedy ended a bizarre route for Brinsley that began in Maryland early Saturday. He went to the home of a former girlfriend in a Baltimore suburb and shot and wounded her. Police there said they noticed Brinsley posting from the woman's Instagram account threats to kill New York officers.

Baltimore-area officials sent a warning to New York City police, who received it moments too late, Bratton said.

But the posts were apparently online for hours, though it's not clear if anyone reported them. Bratton called on New Yorkers to alert authorities of any threats to police they see - even if they don't seem real. "That information must get into the hands of the police officers," he said.

Brinsley had a history of arrests in Georgia for robbery, disorderly conduct and carrying a concealed weapon. Bratton said his last-known address was in Georgia, but he had some ties to Brooklyn.

Meanwhile, the department grieved the sudden and violent loss of the officers.

"Both officers paid the ultimate sacrifice today while protecting the communities they serve," Bratton said Saturday night.

Ramos was married with a 13-year-old son and had another in college, police and a friend said. He had been on the job since 2012 and was a school safety officer. Liu had been on the job for seven years and got married two months ago.

Rosie Orengo, a friend of Ramos, said he was heavily involved in their church and encouraged others in their marriages.

"He was an amazing man. He was the best father and husband and friend," she said. "Our peace is knowing that he's OK, and we'll see him in heaven."

De Blasio and the president of the Patrolmen's Benevolent Association, Patrick Lynch, have been locked in a public battle over treatment of officers following the grand jury's decision. Just days ago, Lynch suggested police officers sign a petition that demanded the mayor not attend their funerals should they die on the job. On Saturday, some officers turned their backs on de Blasio as he walked into the hospital.

"That blood on the hands starts at the steps of City Hall, in the office of the mayor," Lynch said. "After the funerals, those responsible will be called on the carpet and held accountable."

The last shooting death of a New York City officer came in December 2011, when 22-year veteran Peter Figoski was shot in the face while responding to a report of a break-in at a Brooklyn apartment. The triggerman, Lamont Pride, was convicted of murder and sentenced in 2013 to 45 years to life in prison.

Basi tu, walikuwa wanawinda weusi!

Wadau, marehemu nilikuwa namfahamu. Nilimwona mara kadhaa huko Staten Island, New York.

Yule polisi mshenzi anaitwa Daniel Pantaleo. Ukiona video unaona kabisa jinsi Panataleo anavyomwua, na utalia ukimsika ukisikia anasema, "I Can't Breathe!" (Siwezi kupumua).

Mwenyezi Mungu atulinde hapa Marekani!

(Mnakumbaka marehemu Hilda Chacha?)

400-pound woman who plunged through UES sidewalk says size saved her life

  • Posted: 2:04 AM, January 13, 2013
Size does matter!
The 400-pound Queens pedestrian who crashed through an Upper East Side sidewalk said yesterday that a thinner woman might have died from that fall.
“Thank God, they said that my size was the only thing that saved me,” Ulanda Williams, 32, told The Post as she was discharged from NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.
Williams, of Springfield Gardens, was waiting for a bus at about 9:10 p.m. Friday when she tried to hide from the rain under an awning.
The ground suddenly disappeared beneath her — and she was swallowed whole by the cavernous space adjacent to the cellar of The Blue Room on Second Avenue.

Sehemu alipoangukia

“It was horrible, absolutely horrible,” said Williams, who broke her arm in two places in the 6-foot fall.
The social worker, who wore an arm brace as she left the hospital, had bruises and cuts all over her face and neck from the fall.
She said there were no warning signs indicating that any possible sidewalk danger.
“Nothing, nothing,” she said. “It happened so instantly that I didn’t even recognize anything. Cement was all over me, debris. They had a bed frame down there, broken pipes and wood pieces. It was a hollow place.”
“I was standing there approximately 10 seconds and when that occurred, I just fell right through,” said Williams, who stands about 6-foot-5.
The FDNY had to use a crane and cargo net to get her out.
City Department of Buildings inspectors found that a 4-by-6-foot section of sidewalk had collapsed into a vault cellar in front of the building.
Further investigation revealed defective steel doors leading to the vault, and a first-floor staircase was loose.
The building at 301 E. 60th St., at the corner of Second Avenue near a ramp to the 59th Street Bridge, has several open violations, according to the DOB Web site, including a 2011 complaint that the facade was coming loose.
After the collapse, DOB issued another violation to building owner Forward Realty, for failing to maintain the building.
Forward owner Remo Salta, 52, of Ridgewood, NJ, said his property has no violations.
“I didn’t hear anything about this,” he said of Williams’ fall.
Salta, who bought the residential and commercial building in 1995 as an investment, said he has a management company taking care of the property.
“The city, I know, is constantly doing work in that area. I don’t know if they excavated anything next to my property,” he said. “I know they’re always working on Second Avenue.”
Neighborhood resident Bobby Robertson, 56, said the building could use some work.
“When I’m standing here waiting for the bus, I take a look around once in a while and notice how decrepit the street and buildings look,” he said. “You can see cracks in the walls and in the concrete, too. The owners don’t do any upkeep.”
Frank Lupo, 47, a maintenance worker who lives in the building next door to the sidewalk collapse, said the fall could easily have been fatal.
“It doesn’t look it from street level, but that’s one hell of a drop,” he said. “I’m glad she’s alive.”

Meya wa New York Kuokoa Maisha ya Akina Mama Tanzania!

Mayor Michael Bloomberg of New York City

Kutoka YAHOO News

NY's Bloomberg Aims to Save Mothers, Children in Tanzania

UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg said on Tuesday he is funding the expansion of a pilot maternal health program in Tanzania that is predicted to help 50,000 mothers and their children during the next three years.

A woman dies every two minutes of pregnancy-related problems with 99 percent of such deaths in poor countries, according to the U.N. Population Fund. Common causes are bleeding after childbirth, high blood pressure, infections and unsafe abortions.

"No one should have to die giving birth," Bloomberg told a news conference at the United Nations with Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete. "Too many women die due to complications in childbirth because of inaccessible and inadequate care."

The Bloomberg Philanthropies initiative trains assistant medical officers and midwives in remote areas to perform life-saving procedures including caesarean sections and upgrades isolated health centers.

"If you can build a model that you can show works in remote areas where the doctor to patient ratio is 1 to 50,000 then you can start attracting capital from an awful lot of other foundations and perhaps governments," said Bloomberg, founder of Bloomberg LP who has so far donated more than $2.4 billion to charity.

While U.N. data shows maternal deaths globally halved between 1990 and 2010 to 287,000 annually, many states in sub-Saharan Africa are forecast to fail to reach a U.N. target of reducing maternal deaths between 1990 and 2015 by 75 percent.

Tanzania is not on track to meet the U.N. target and has the eighth highest number of maternal deaths in the world - a woman dies almost every hour. Kikwete said that more money was needed to tackle the problem.

"We need to scale up efforts because still too many mothers and children continue to die," Kikwete told reporters.

The Bloomberg Philanthropies maternal health program began in Tanzania in 2006. Bloomberg has now joined forces with Geneva-based H&B Agerup Foundation to spend $8 million to expand the program over the next three years, taking the total spent since the initiative started to $15.5 million.

Bloomberg's third term as New York City mayor finishes at the end of next year and he has said he will then dedicate himself to philanthropy. He hit No. 10 on Forbes latest ranking of the richest people in the United States with an estimated fortune of $25 billion.

In 2011 Bloomberg Philanthropies spent $330 million and Bloomberg has signed up to the Giving Pledge, a philanthropic campaign by two of the world's richest men - Warren Buffett and Bill Gates - that required him to announce he would give away at least half his wealth during his lifetime or after his death.

Safari Yangu World Trade Center 1991 na Kumbukumbu Zangu za 9/11

Wadau, mwaka 1991 nikiwa Alfred Friendly Press Fellow, nilibahatika kutembelea World Trade Center, New York.

Siku enyewe kwangu ilikuwa hivi. Wazungu wanasema ilikuwa ni "perfect day".

Haijapita muda, mume wangu kanipigia simu tena.

DUH! nilivyowaambia watu hivyo kuna mzungu moja alisema," Ah, huwezi kuamini kila kitu unachosikia, hata siku moja Pentagon haivamiwi!"

Huko nami nasali namtafuta mdogo wangu.

Nilianza kumtafuta mdogo wangu wa New York.

Sasa nikirudi hapa Boston, macho yetu kwenye TV. Walikuwa wanaomba wenye utaalamu wa medical waende New York kusaidia.

Greyhound sasa wamepunguza nauli kwenye baadhi ya mabasi yao kwenda New York City.

Greyhound mlie tu!

Gavana Mpya wa New York atakuwa Mweusi!

Mungu ambariki Bwana Paterson!

Sasa kuhusu huyo Spitzer aka. Client No. 9, aka. Eliot Ness, aka Mr. Clean, anazidi kuaibika.

Kwenye tepu zao wanamwita 'Client No. 9' Pia wanasema huyo malaya sijui kalipwa dola $5,000 kwa saa! Sijui kazilia yeye au walipe kodi wa New York!
MAKUBWA!
