Wadau,  tafadhali jikinge dhidi ya ugonjwa wa Coronavirus (COVID-19).  Huo ugonjwa unaua!   Hauchagui rangi, umri, au kama wewe ni maskini au tajiri!

Shemaji yangu, Dennis Whitlow, amefariki kwa coronavirus hapa Boston usiku wa kuamkia jumatatu. Hakuna aliyeruhisiwa kumwona hospitalini hadi amefariki.   Nafahamu wagonjwa wengi, wengine wamepona, wengine wamefariki!  Kuna babu wa miaka 88 aliyefariki niliyekuwa namfahamu na kijana mwenye afya mwenye miaka 28 ambaye amefariki. Coronavirus hauchagui.

Tafadhali mfuate masharti. Ukae mbali na mtu mwingine, kaeni majumbani na ukitoka funika  mdomo na pua!  Nawa mikono kila mara. Usiguse uso wako.

Kifo cha coronavirus ni sawa na kifo cha maji, mapafu yanajaa maji, mwili unashindwa kupata hewa (oxygen).

Massachusetts State Police want to know if you have seen this man who was riding his bicycle on the Boston Esplanade Thursday afternoon just before 2pm.

He is suspected of grabbing two women by the buttocks as he rode by them, just west of Community Boating. 

The surveillance video shows the man, a black male, dressed all in black with a black backpack that had two pieces of white tape on it.

Kenyan Child Burn Victim Looking for Host Family in Boston

URGENT: Kenyan burn victim child looking for a temporary host family in Boston

BOSTON, Mass--Stella Akoth is a bright 16 year old girl who lives in Chimelli, a small rural town in Kenya. She suffered severe burns when she was two years old from a kerosene lamp explosion and as a result, she is disabled and is excluded from many activities that her peers enjoy.

However, an amazing story is unfolding..... After her concerned teacher contacted a local non-profit organization, a network of people came forward and now, she has an opportunity of a life time. She will be flown into Boston to receive surgery at the Shriners Hospital by a world-renown surgeon for child burn victims. Her medical expenses, living expenses, and air fare will all be provided by donors and charitable organizations.

A host family in Boston that would take Stella and her guardian in between Stella’s surgeries is the only missing piece at this point. We have 3 prospective host families but would like to have a few more on our list in case things fall through for one reason or another. (A stipend would be provided by the Children’s Burn Foundation to cover expenses.) Would you be able to host?

Stella and her guardian are due to arrive in early June. First, Stella will be seen by the surgeon to determine a plan. She will likely undergo a series of surgeries. Please provide two beds and use of a bathroom and kitchen for a maximum of a couple of months. If you could provide meals, that would be helpful.

The Boston- New York line has taken a hit with the loss of its Discount buses, the Fung Wah bus and Lucky Star.  You could go to New York or Boston for $15 anytime and all the time, just walk up to the counter and buy a ticker.  Since the demise of Fung Wah all bus lines raised their prices dramatically.  The result people travelling between Boston and New York have to pay a lot more now!

June 6, 2012- Boston, MA- Nonprofit Families for Justice as Healing has partnered with Touch 106.1 FM, families of the incarcerated and other community organizations to rally against the construction of new women’s prisons in Massachusetts. The goal of this rally/ petition signing is to protest and raise public awareness of Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and state legislatures’ allocation of $550 million dollars to build more jails for women and the impact on local communities.

Wikiendi iliyopita nilishiriki katika Mchezo wa Kuigiza, The Vagina Monologues (Maongezi ya Uke ..nishahishe kama nimekosea kutafsiri).

Kila mwaka vikundi vya wanawake hapa Marekani na nchi nyingi duniani wanasoma na kuigiza huo mchezo mwezi Machi. Hela wanazopata kutoka kwenye viingilio na mauzo ya chakula zinakwenda kusaidia vyama, mashirika yanayosaidia akina mama. Machi ni mwezi ya Wanawake duniani.

The Vagina Monologues ni hadithi fupi mbalimbali zinazotokana na mahojiano aliyofanya Bi Eve Ensler na wanawake kadhaa kuhusu nyeti zao. Kulikuwa na maongezi ya Bi Kizee, Shoga, Mke, Uke uliyokasirika, Mwanamke aliyedhani kapoteza kiharage chake, Kubalehe, Kubakwa, Kutairiwa, na mengine.

Kwa kweli nimetokea kufurahia huo mchezo na hata wanaume niliyowaalika waliyoenda wameipenda sana. Imewafanya wafikirie haki za akina mama na pia jinsi akina mama wanavyoona maswala kama uke zao, ngono, kunyanyyawa kijinisia.

Tanzania kuna hadithi nyingi sana ambazo zinaweza kuingizwa katika huo mchezo.

Mnauliza niliongelea nini? Nililionogelea uzazi, jinsi mwanamke anavyokuwa na uchungu katika uzazi na jinsi uke unavyofunguka ili mtoto atoke.

Yaani leo ni siku ya kwanza ya Februari. Tunapigwa na snow tena. Kesho tutapigwa tena. Ikiisha tutakuwa na karibu futi mbili na nusu ya snow! Hiyo ni juu ya ile snow ambayo ilianguka majuzi! Hatuna pakuiweka. Ni hatari kutembea na kuendesha magari shauri ya milima ya snow. Watu wameonywa kuwa ikianza kuyeyuka kutakuwa na mafuriko!

In the United States women of African descent are raising children, building lives, and empowering themselves. The US launching in Boston, to be held on Friday, December 10, 2010 at UMass Boston, will bring together women of African descendent and their allies to learn more about the AU's 10-year campaign and set action steps addressing the challenges of local women from the Diaspora.
