Choo Chako

UPDATE 12:00PM EASTERN
CNN) -- A plane crashed Tuesday shortly after taking off from the Goma airport in the Democratic Republic of Congo, killing 83 passengers and crew on board, a foreign ministry spokesman said.
The Hewa Bora Airways DC-9 was heading from the city of Goma in the eastern mountains to the central city of Kisangani when it plummeted into a neighborhood near the runway, spokesman Antoine Ghonda said.
The plane went down shortly after 3 p.m. (9 a.m. ET) and was still on fire an hour later, U.N. spokesman Kemal Saiki said in Goma.
The United Nations and Red Cross are helping with the rescue effort, which is hampered by the "basic, if nonexistent" equipment in the impoverished country, Saiki said.
Hewa Bora Airways is a private Congolese airline that aviation authorities in Belgium recently suspended for safety violations, said foreign ministry spokesman Antoine Ghonda. The airline is based in the capital, Kinshasa.
Before its suspension, Hewa Bora had operated a weekly flight to Belgium, Ghonda said.
Congolese authorities had not suspended the airline. "I'm quite sure they're going" to after this week's crash, Ghonda added.
The Democratic Republic of Congo, formerly Zaire, has a dismal aviation record. There have been 10 plane crashes there since February 2007, resulting in 76 deaths, according to the Aviation Safety Network.
Ghonda said the cause of Tuesday's crash is under investigation but initial indications point to an overloaded cabin. He said weather was not a factor.
Saiki said air travel is one of the few ways to get around the Congo.
"This is the third-largest country in Africa, as big as Western Europe, and yet you don't even have 2,000 miles of roads," Saiki said. "So basically most of the transportation in such a big country is done by air."

Kwa nini Kuku alivuka Barabara?

Asante Dada Subi
MARTIN LUTHER KING Jr: ... I envision a world where all chickens will befree to cross roads without having their motives being called into question.
* MACHIAVELLI: The point is that the chicken crossed the road. Who cares why? The end of crossing the road justifies whatever motive there was.
* MACHIAVELLI: The point is that the chicken crossed the road. Who cares why? The end of crossing the road justifies whatever motive there was.
* GEORGE W BUSH : We don' t really care why the chicken crossed the road. We just want to know if the chicken is on our side of the road or not. The chicken is either with us or it is against us. There is no middle ground here.
* MOHAMMED ALDOURI: ( Iraqi Ambassador): The chicken did not cross the road. This is a complete fabrication. We don't even have a chicken.
* EINSTEIN: Whether the chicken crossed the road or the road moved beneath the chicken depends upon your frame of reference.
* ISAAC NEWTON: Any chicken in the universe shall always cross a road perpendicularly to the side of the road, and in an infinitely long straight line at uniform speed, unless the chicken stops due to an unbalanced reactive force in the opposite direction of the chicken's motion.
* THABO MBEKI: We need to establish if really there is a connection between the chicken and the road.
* ROBERT MUGABE: We intend in taking over this road and giving it to the roadless chickens so that they can cross it without fear. We will not stop until all roadless chickens have roads to cross and the freedom to cross them.
* RAILA ODINGA: Has the chicken signed an MOU not to cross the road? Crossing the road is a two horse affair. Anything else is a donkey! Besides no one can stop the River Nile....... But if we cross the road like I have done seven times so far, then we can invite the chicken to come back to the original side of the road....
*EMILIO MWAI KIBAKI: Kuku ilivuka pale pale, ikienda huko huko........na hilo ndilo jambo la muhimu.......hakuna mambo ingine……… na hatuwezi kataa, tutakataa namna gani ? Hakunaaa !!! Na hao wanaendelea kuongea mambo ya kuku………..…....ni wapumbavu.................mavi ya kuku!
*JAKAYA KIKWETE: Kuku alivuka barabara kutizama maisha bora kwa kila kifaranga.
*MU7: Who cares about kuku kuvuka marababara so long as I live to become EAC president?
*Dokta WIL SLAA: Kuku alivuka barabara kuwasaka mafisadi.
*ALI MWINYI: Jamani ndugu zanguni eeeh, ruksa kuku kuvuka barabara. Nasema, mwacheni kuku mwenye kuweza kuvuka barabara, avuke barabara, msimgonge.
*J K NYERERE: Na kuku nao huwa wanavuka barabara siku hizi? ........eti huwa munawavusha? Kwa ajili gani? Kwanza vijibarabara vyenyewe vya kuvuka ni vipi? Udjinga mtupu.

Waheshimiwa,
Naomba msaada wengu kwani kuficha haya maradhi sasa imefika mwisho, yanaumbua, wahenga walishaonya.
Ninajua mpo watu mtakaosema tulizembea kumlea ndugu yetu ama hatujui malezi, mtatushurutisha kuwa tumelikoroga basi na tulinywe, mimi nakubali yote, rusheni mawe, pigeni vijembe, malizeni matusi na kejeli zote, lakini ukweli unabakia pale pale, hili halinyweki!
Mimi ndiyo hivyo tena maji nshayavulia nguo, kuyaoga sina budi.
Ndiyo maana ninaomba ushauri kutoka kwenu.
Waheshimiwa,
Naomba msaada wengu kwani kuficha haya maradhi sasa imefika mwisho, yanaumbua, wahenga walishaonya.
Ninajua mpo watu mtakaosema tulizembea kumlea ndugu yetu ama hatujui malezi, mtatushurutisha kuwa tumelikoroga basi na tulinywe, mimi nakubali yote, rusheni mawe, pigeni vijembe, malizeni matusi na kejeli zote, lakini ukweli unabakia pale pale, hili halinyweki!
Mimi ndiyo hivyo tena maji nshayavulia nguo, kuyaoga sina budi. Tafadhali rejezeni roho zenu za huruma, ninakuombeni ushauri.

DC akoromea Wanaosumbua wenzao kwa Mikesha
2008-04-08

Kutoka imdb.comSuperstars Jay-Z and Beyonce Knowles are now husband and wife, a close friend of the couple has revealed. The couple is alleged to have married in a private ceremony at a chapel in Scarsdale Village in Westchester, New York, on Friday afternoon, surrounded by around 30 friends and family. The all-white ceremony was attended by Knowles' mother Tina and father Mathew, and her younger sister Solange. Also in attendance were Knowles' star's former Destiny's Child bandmates, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, Jay-Z's mom Gloria, and pals Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow. The wedding party then moved on to the rap mogul's luxury New York penthouse apartment in the TriBeCa area of the city, where a marquee had been erected on a terrace at the building. The marquee was also decorated with five-foot tall candelabras and 60,000 elegant white orchids, which had been flown in from Thailand at a cost of $500,000. The wedding reception was reportedly attended by more than 200 guests, including producer/music mogul Jermaine Dupri and his girlfriend Janet Jackson, R&B singer Usher, rappers Wyclef Jean and Kanye West, producer Pharrell Williams, and Knowles' Dreamgirls co-stars Jennifer Hudson and Jamie Foxx. And the low-key wedding celebration was exactly what the couple had in mind. On Friday, the source told People.com, "It happened earlier this evening. Jay wanted it to be a really private affair - close friends and family." But the newlyweds, who have been dating since 2002, will not have time for a honeymoon just yet - Carter is currently in the middle of a North American tour with hip-hop/soul queen Mary J. Blige. Instead, the couple is reportedly set to celebrate their nuptials at a luxury $8,000-a-night hotel on the Caribbean island of Anguilla later this year.

Well, you have heard of Mungiki stripping women in Naivasha, Well, in South Africa, taxi drivers are doing the same. Ati wearing a mini-skirt is wrong!Nwabisa Ngcukana, 25, had to parade but naked at the Noord Taxi Rank after a mob of taxi drivers stripped and tore her clothes. Her crime was wearing a short skirt. They torn skirt and panties as you can see from picture below..."I have never been so traumatised in my life. I thought these taxi drivers were going to rape me," Ngcukana said. "
As they stripped me they kept shouting that this is what I wanted. Some were sticking their finger in my vagina while others poured alcohol over my head and called me all sorts of names." Well, what did the South African women do?
A female radio DJ asked people to call in and they talked: I would feel disappointed if this is not debated in the next Parliament sitting But more importantly, they did not just talk. Of course, they took action. They organized a mini skirt march http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/7276654.stm%3E and went over to the taxi rank.

HARARE, Zimbabwe (AP) -- Zimbabwe's opposition leader fears that President Robert Mugabe is preparing a "war against the people" in his bid to hold on to power.
Movement for Democratic Change leader Morgan Tsvangirai told a news conference Saturday that his party was reluctant to take part in an election runoff because of the growing risks of violence.
He says there is no need for such a runoff because he won presidential elections last Saturday.
The opposition will mount a new bid in the High Court on Sunday for the election results to be published. Armed police prevented lawyers from entering the court Saturday.

HARARE, Zimbabwe (AP) -- Armed police prevented opposition lawyers from entering Zimbabwe's High Court on Saturday to lodge an urgent suit aiming to force the publication of presidential election results.
Opposition lawyer Alec Muchadehama said a senior police officer wearing a ruling ZANU-PF shirt gave the orders, amid increasing signs of a clampdown.
"No one is going to enter. They say they are going to call the riot police," Muchadehama said. Journalists waiting outside the court also were ordered to disperse.
The Movement for Democratic Change wanted the High Court to force the electoral commission to publish results of the March 29 presidential election.
Official results for the parliamentary elections showed the ruling party lost its majority in the 110-seat parliament. Independent observers projected that MDC candidate, Morgan Tsvangirai, won most of the votes cast in the presidential contest but not enough for an outright victory over longtime ruler Robert Mugabe.
The ruling ZANU-PF party announced Friday it was endorsing Mugabe, whose 28-year rule led Zimbabwe from liberation to ruin, in a runoff election.
Earlier, the opposition asked the United Nations to intervene during the runoff campaign over fears that Mugabe, 84, may stage a violent crackdown to retain power.
Nelson Chamisa, spokesman for the opposition, pointed to signs of a coming clampdown, including a march in Harare by war veterans loyal to Mugabe who have beat up opponents in the past, a raid on opposition party offices and the detention of foreign journalists by armed police in full riot gear.
"They are trying to intimidate people, they are trying to set up the context for unleashing violence. The vampire instincts of this regime are definitely going to come out," Chamisa charged.
Zimbabwe needs the assistance of the international community, he said.
"The U.N. has to make sure that there is no violence in this country. ... They should not (wait to) come when there is blood in the street, blood in the villages."
But South African President Thabo Mbeki said Saturday that international intervention is not needed.
"I think it is time to wait. Let's see the outcome of the election results. If there is a re-run of the presidential election let us see what comes out of that," Mbeki said.
Mugabe has ruled since his guerrilla army helped bring about an independent Zimbabwe in 1980. His popularity has been battered by an economic slide that followed the often-violent seizures of white-owned commercial farms since 2000. A third of the population have fled the country, 80 percent of those who remain are jobless and inflation is more than 100,000 percent.
Chamisa said he expected the court to answer its petition for the election results immediately in Saturday morning's hearing, but he was not hopeful of the outcome.
Zimbabwe's courts are stacked with Mugabe sympathizers who have delayed hearing opposition challenges to results of 2002 and 2005 elections that international observers said were marked by fraud and intimidation.
The U.S. and other Western nations also have been pressing for the presidential results to be announced.
The law requires a runoff within 21 days of the first elections. But diplomats in Harare and at the United Nations said Mugabe was planning to declare a 90-day delay to give security forces time to clamp down.
An African Union election observer team found no evidence of fraud during voting last weekend, according to the delegation's leader, former Sierra Leone president Ahmed Tejan Kabbah.
Kabbah praised Mugabe as "a patriot," and said during a meeting Thursday that the Zimbabwe leader was "relaxed" despite his setback at the polls.
New York Times journalist Barry Bearak was among those detained Thursday by heavily armed riot police who surrounded and entered a Harare hotel frequented by foreign reporters, lawyers said. The U.S.-based National Democratic Institute said one of its staff, American Dileepan Sivapathasundaram, was detained at Harare's airport as he tried to leave the country Thursday.
The government had rejected most foreign journalists' applications to cover the elections and had barred Western election observers.
Lawyer Beatrice Mtetwa said the attorney general decided there was no case against the two Americans and a third person who was not identified. However, police decided to hold them. It was not clear whether new charges would be filed.
State Department Tom Casey said four Americans were detained Thursday, but two had been released and were leaving the country. He told reporters Friday that U.S. officials had been in contact with the two Americans still in custody.

………………………………………………………………………………..
" ndio hao wengine nao wamekodisha hao watoto nao wanamlipa yule mama "? " yule mama amewapata wapi watoto wote hao ?"

" ndio hao wengine nao wamekodisha hao watoto nao wanamlipa yule mama "? " yule mama amewapata wapi watoto wote hao ?"

Educated TZ Immigrants in US in tough Situation
Some of our educated brothers and sisters are increasingly unhappy and openly frustrated with USA way of life. Highly educated Tanzanians are currently working in embarrassing lower paying jobs like nursing assistants, hard labor and taxi drivers.
Most of them who rushed to USA just after their college graduation walk are increasingly find themselves out of touch with reality, most of them are still fantasizing how good their peers are doing back home, most of them are turn their frustration to clubs and prostitution to end pain inside.
This forced me to ask myself two questions (1) why (2) what can we do to help them. (1) Why? USA is very different from TV shows or fanatic lifestyle you all see on TV when you land in USA you are going to find out three important things (a) You must work to survive (b) Education is very expensive (c) You have a big possibility of violating US-Laws and traditional morals on the process of succeeding in U.S.A.
You need to know the following in detail first. Work to survive: If you work without a permit is illegal, given that fact if you don’t have enough money in your pocket minimum of $1600 a month you must work.
To work in USA you need personal identification number called Social Security Number, so that means you need Social Security Card for work identification. The problem you are going to face is most highly paying jobs are increasingly sensitive to illegal Social Security Cards, which are mandatory to any job.
The other problem you are going to face is the fact that your USA host friends are not going to let you jobless just because of documents since everybody is doing it why not you? From beginning of your journey you are going to find yourself compromising your traditional morals and dreams you have for USA.
After few months without any source of income you are going to find yourself under desperation and pressure to do something quick to make a living possible.
Social Security Number: To work legally in USA you need Social Security Number, but due to political pressures the process of getting Social Security is more complicated than ever. For International Student to get SSN # you need to be In Status and that means to be a full time student. .
Education: For an international student to qualify for any benefit he/she must be in student status, that means you need to maintain 12hrs of college classes per semester and your performance status should be “good academic standings”.
Together with education one of advantage of good status includes Social Security Letter, which students used to get Social Security Number. For a regular State college cost of international student for 12 hours semester is ranging from $4000-$8,000 plus or minus, One Year is two semesters. This cost is not only ridiculous but also laughable for a middle class young Tanzania to keep up with.
Some Students with higher performance in GMAT or GRE may get a break of paying out of state fees, so the real cost is going to be around $2,000-$5,000. You must also consider the fact that getting scholarship is easy said than done. What can we do to help them?
There’s no clear answer to this questions everybody think differently, however I am going to give my opinion honestly.
Social Behavior: In my first paragraph some people may end up with conclusion that I called all Tanzanians graduate frustrated but I am not.
Background: Young Tanzanians started a massive immigration to USA in 1996, most of them young student who completed their Advance levels. Most of them aged between 20-23 years of age. With older Tanzanians distance themselves with this young Tanzanians they learned fast how to hustle. This young group went through ups and downs just like any other young people but at the end of day they learned how to maneuver complicated life in USA.
Those Tanzanians who came here after college find themselves living the past of their fellow high school classmates’ example documents hustles, boyfriends and girlfriends, clubbing. The only problem is the fact that now they have to do this at 25-27 years of age and not early 20’s.
This group who went to high school together find themselves share very few things in common socially example. Those Tanzanians graduates came here with the altitude that they are smarter than their fellow high school mates because they did not make to local colleges like UD, Mzumbe or Sokoine, but their fellow mates who immigrate to USA became more matured and street smarter.
This situation put many Tanzanians who graduate abroad very uncomfortable, most of them decide early they rather face problems with lack of street awareness rather than shameful asking embarrassing question or help to those who they ones consider looser’.
The behavior is still common here in United States. What is your Take on this? Stay and Hustle or Go home before is too late?

Review of Bongoland II - Minneapolis Star Tribune

BONGOLAND II - The movie review - StarTribune - April 4th, 2008
The following is a movie review written by MEGAN KADRMAS from The StarTribune - Friday April 4th - After she reviewed the movie. (Page F11)
Plymouth based filmmaker Josiah Kibira releases his third attempt Saturday in a quest to create high quality films in Swahili. "BONGOLAND II" completes an adventure that brought Kibira back to his native country of Tanzania for 36 days of filming.
As a continuation of Kibira's first Swahili-based movie "Bongoland", this sequel follows as main character Juma as he readjusts to life in Tanzania after failing in the United States.
The beauty of "Bongoland II" arises in its misleading simplicity. Although it could be said that the film tracks Juma's adaptation, it uses larger issues to highlight the ways in which Juma is not - and may never be - fully readjusted.
From family secrets to workplace drama, reconnecting with friends to waiting for his girlfriend, it becomes clear that Juma might not fully reclaim who he once was.
Tanzania serves as a complementary backdrop, with its own mixture of basic starkness and complex beauty. Inside cinder block shanties and pristine swaths of beach, Juma learns that leaving home is sometimes easier than returning home.

Hata anayejitahidi kufanya kazi anaogopa kutishwa kulogwa. Yaani ni aibu mfanowe hakuna.Dawa? Elimu inayoendana na wakati na mazingira. We mtu anafundishwa nadharia tu shuleni, vipindi vya vitendo, maabara hamna vifaa ya kutosha ama hakuna kabisa vifaa, anaishia kukariri tu, sasa huyu mtu akihitimu atatarajiwa vipi afanye kazi kwa ufanisi?

Witchdoctor killings condemned
NAIROBI (Reuters) - Tanzania's President Jakaya Kikwete has condemned witchdoctors who kill albinos and harvest their body parts in the hope it will bring prosperity.
He said 19 albinos had been murdered since March 2007, and another two were missing presumed dead in the east African country.
"Sometimes, word spreads around that body parts of people with certain physical attributes like bald people or albinos contribute greatly to attaining quick prosperity," Kikwete said in a monthly state of the nation speech late on Wednesday.
"These killings are shameful and distressing to our society," he added.
Albinos are often accused in Tanzania of being witches themselves.
There are an estimated 270,000 people who suffer from the condition which stops them producing pigment in their skin, hair and eyes in the country of 39 million.
Kikwete blamed charlatan witchdoctors, many masquerading as traditional healers, for extracting body parts such as genitals, tongues and breasts.
"Many of the witchcraft killings happen because of a false belief that by using other peoples' body parts they can succeed in business or in activities like mining or fishing," Kikwete said.
Most killings took place in the Victoria region and were committed by gangs for hire, he said.

LONDON, England (AP) -- Supermodel Naomi Campbell has been arrested at Heathrow Airport's Terminal 5 for allegedly spitting at a police officer, Sky News television reported Thursday.

A London Metropolitan Police spokesman said a woman was arrested at the terminal for an assault on police, but refused to disclose her identity or give her age.
The spokesman spoke on condition of anonymity in line with force policy.
BAA PLC, the company that runs Heathrow, did not immediately return a call seeking comment Thursday.

Zimbabwe opposition offices raided
By ANGUS SHAW, Associated Press Writer
4-3-08
HARARE, Zimbabwe - President Robert Mugabe's government raided the offices of the main opposition movement and rounded up foreign journalists Thursday in an ominous indication that he may use intimidation and violence to keep his grip on power.
Police raided a hotel used by the opposition Movement for Democratic Change and ransacked some of the rooms. Riot police also surrounded another hotel housing foreign journalists and took away several of them, according to a man who answered the phone there.
"Mugabe has started a crackdown," Movement for Democratic Change general secretary Tendai Biti told The Associated Press. "It is quite clear he has unleashed a war."
Biti said the raid at the Meikles Hotel targeted "certain people ... including myself." Opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai was "safe" but had canceled plans for a news conference, Biti said.
He said that Thursday's clampdown was a sign of worse to follow but that the opposition would not go into hiding.
"You can't hide away from fascism. Zimbabwe is a small country. So we are not going into hiding. We are just going to have to be extra cautious," he said.
The opposition claims it won Saturday's presidential race outright. While the election commission has issued results for the parliamentary races held alongside the presidential race, it has yet to release any presidential count.
Official results showed the opposition won the majority of seats in the 110-member parliament. But the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission said that there were "logistical problems" delaying the results for the 60-member senate.
Mugabe's Deputy Information Minister Bright Matonga said Thursday that Mugabe was ready for a runoff, dashing hopes that he would bow quietly off the national stage he has dominated for 28 years.
"President Mugabe is going to fight. He is not going anywhere. He has not lost," Matonga said on the British Broadcasting Corp. "We are going to go hard and fight and get the majority required."
The 84-year-old Mugabe was shown on state television Thursday meeting African Union election observers, his first public appearance since the elections.
Matonga accused the opposition of trying "to get rid of President Mugabe at all costs and that is what we are going to fight."
"This election campaign was not a campaign for democracy but a campaign for regime change," he said, going on to say that the opposition was sponsored by the West. He said ZANU-PF would go back and "regroup" and campaign "very vigorously in "a very peaceful manner."
International concern mounted about the continuing delays.
"We still have not seen the important thing, which is real live election results," said State Department spokesman Tom Casey. "We need to see an official tally, see it soon and have assurances made that this is actually a correct counting of the votes."
"Delays raise serious questions in our minds about what is going on in the vote counting," he said.
Former U.N. chief Kofi Annan said the continuing delays were dangerous. He urged the government and the electoral commission to scrupulously observe the electoral law and "to declare the election results faithfully and accurately."
"We live in an open world today and indeed the eyes of the world are on Zimbabwe, on its Electoral Commission, on its President. I urge them to do the right thing, to respect the Constitution and to obey the electoral laws. The election results should be released now," he said.
Mugabe has ruled since his guerrilla army helped force an end to white minority rule in then-Rhodesia and bring about an independent Zimbabwe in 1980.
He ordered the often-violent seizures of white-owned commercial farms, ostensibly to return them to the landless black majority. Instead, Mugabe replaced a white elite with a black one, giving the farms to relatives, friends and cronies who allowed cultivated fields to be taken over by weeds.
Today, a third of the population depends on imported food handouts. Another third has fled the country and 80 percent is jobless. Inflation is the highest in the world at more than 100,000 percent and people suffer crippling shortages of food, water, electricity, fuel and medicine. Life expectancy has fallen from 60 to 35 years.

Ngono 'Tamu' huchukua dakika 3 hadi 13 tu! - WAKUBWA TU!

Wadau mnasemaje?
